Hazy skies: observations from 3,250 metrological stations

Vancouver Sun – Observations from 3,250 metrological stations around the world, located from Baffin Island to Beijing to Buenos Aires, show that visibility in the skies decreased in the last three decades “resulting in net global dimming over land,” researchers report in the journal Science on Friday. Soot and pollution wafting into the atmosphere because of increased use of coal and fossil fuels are the leading culprits, they say.
