Events: Alphabet City Festival 2009 (WATER)

Alphabet City is a unique entity. Acclaimed for its cross-disciplinary approach to contemporary issues.
- Canadian Art.
Water Festival – Water is the chemical matrix required for life, the molecular chain that connects all organisms on this planet. Today the Earth’s water–transportation conduit, industrial feedstock, agricultural necessity–is coming under new pressures. From the nano (eg, the migration of pharmaceutical molecules through the hydrological system) to the macro (a ballooning global population combined with climate change means intensified competition for this already scarce resource), water is at risk.
Festival includes HYDROCity Exhibition and symposium (in partnership with InfraNet Lab), river walk, opera performance, articles, design charette, book launches, student exhibits, and more. “Alphabet City seeks to build a better world by producing innovative perspectives on every aspect of urban life, from A to Z.” 2009 Festival schedule (Water): Toronto (Oct. 31 – Nov. 06), New York City (Nov. 12), and Montreal (Nov. 31).
