Inuit Contact and Colonization – This site is about takurngaqtaq, or encountering something for the first time, between the Inuit, First Nations, Whalers, Explorers and the impact of this contact through time.
This site is designed to support your exploration by providing historical and cultural context to these contact experiences. The Historical Exploration Toolkit provides research tools and historical context. The Inuit and the Land section provides an opportunity to explore Inuit perspectives before contact through a traditional Inuit bag. These sections should be explored first in order to better understand the relationships developed with different contact groups.
