Alaska legislators seek out Obama for talk on Arctic policy

Fairbanks Daily News – Miner – The Alaska congressional delegation this week asked President Barack Obama to meet with them to discuss Arctic policy, including the impacts of climate change and oil and gas development on the region. The delegation letter came on the heels of an appeal by 67 members of the House for immediate action to restrict industrial activity in the Arctic, including shipping, commercial fishing and oil and gas development.
